Emergency Department / ICU/ House Supervisor.
One year and six months with six assignments.
I have been a RN for 19 years in the specialties of ED, ICU, flight RN, House Supervisor, and Trauma Coordinator. I love the support and encouragement from the Fastaff team. My recruiter Jackie Layton is awesome! Jackie genuinely cares and makes every transition into a new assignment easy breezy.
My husband and two girls, Chloe (nine years old) and Ally (seven years old) and I are sharing this wonderful journey and adventure together. My girls love to travel! When we moved back from overseas where I worked as an RN as well, my kids asked, “Can we travel America this time?”
Working with Fastaff has given my family the opportunity to travel together and visit areas of the country we probably wouldn’t have the chance to see.
Last fall, I completed an assignment at a major Level I facility in Boston in the ICU. As travelers, we floated to MICU, Neuro ICU, CCU, and SICU. I absolutely loved it. For the first time in over 16 years, I was manually calculating Swan- Gantz measurements!
The ED and ICU are both taxing for different reasons, so I prefer to alternate between the two as often as I can, and Fastaff allows me to do that.
At the end of every week, I felt rewarded and grateful to share tears, smiles, and laughter with my patients and their families. When the family requests you to be the RN for the last day of their loved ones’ life - I don’t think there’s a word to describe that feeling.
I’ve had the privilege of being involved in so many people’s lives and have been rewarded a hundred times over knowing I made difference.
