Hello fellow Fastaff nurses,
I am so proud to have the opportunity to share my experience with Fastaff with all of you.
My Name is Maria Colon and I am a pediatric ICU Registered Nurse. One of the reasons I love working with Fastaff is the accessibility to my recruiter. I was fortunate enough to be assigned to my recruiter, Rhieannon Gomez, six years ago during my first travel assignment.
I have had the opportunity to work and travel from the East coast to the West Coast. Along my travels, I have learned that although all hospitals have a common goal, to attain the maximum level of wellness for the patient, the process may be different. The biggest challenge in travel nursing has been adjusting to this process and learning state specific and hospital policies and procedures. However, the team of nurses that I have worked with has embraced and mentored me through this process, therefore facilitating my transition into their unit. We have worked together as a team to save numerous lives. Each nurse brings their specific specialty to the care of the patient and increases the statistics of survival.
My fascination with traveling was about getting to see the world outside of the city that I grew up in. Traveling nursing has opened up a world of infinite possibilities. I have had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds in my travel experiences. I have learned to hike, set up camps, and kayak, among so many other activities. My travels have also taken me to historical sites throughout the country. I have learned to love this beautiful land alongside so many unique and wonderful people.
From,
A very happy, satisfied travel nurse.
