Qualifications and Requirements to Become a Travel PT

Since you'll be working closely with patients and helping them manage their mobility concerns, we do have a few requirements. We ask that applicants have about one or two years of recent experience working as a Physical Therapist so that they are well-prepared to handle various issues and adjust to new locations.

  • Enthusiastic, adventurous spirit

  • Additional requirements and certifications depending on the specific facility or unit you work for

Travel Physical Therapist Job Description

There are many situations, ranging from accidents to chronic illnesses, that can impact someone's mobility. As a physical therapist, you'll perform assessments to learn more about the patient's overall health and their specific movement and pain issues.

By developing a rehabilitation and treatment plan, you can help improve your patient's quality of life and help them prevent future issues later on.

Travel PT Job Duties and Responsibilities

If you thrive in an ever-changing work environment, working as a travel PT can provide you with just what you're looking for. In this role, you'll be assisting patients with their pain and mobility needs, helping restore some — or even all — of their movement.

Depending on their unique needs, you'll create individualized treatment plans and work one-on-one with patients. From explaining their mobility issues to them to instructing them on how to perform specific exercises at home or in the office, you'll be helping individuals regain movement after injuries or surgery.

Once your work in one location is complete, you'll move along to a new setting where you can grow your skills as a physical therapist and serve new patients.
